IBS – UIM Solution

Overview

Inventory system unifies multi-vendor resources across domains. Using AI Agents and digital twin technology, it visualizes topologies, performs intelligent auditing, and eliminates dark assets for ultra-high data accuracy. The result: a precise resource foundation that drives end-to-end automated orchestration, reducing cross-domain service rollout cycles and boosting O&M efficiency.

Background Information

Currently, as telecommunications networks accelerate their evolution toward highly Autonomous Networks and digital twins, resource management is experiencing an irreversible shift from "passive static recording" to "proactive intelligent governance." However, at this stage, operators universally face core pain points such as difficulties in cross-domain synergy caused by multi-vendor system fragmentation, as well as widespread "inventory-reality discrepancies" and the proliferation of "dark assets" resulting from manual maintenance. Due to the lack of unified TMF standard models and 3D spatial mapping, it is difficult to precisely control massive, dynamic assets, which directly hinders the ultra-fast provisioning of end-to-end services and highly efficient O&M. Therefore, breaking down traditional data silos to build a unified resource foundation—driven by AI Agents and equipped with high-fidelity digital twin capabilities—has become the industry's inevitable choice. It is the key to resolving the operational deadlocks of "unclear visibility, inaccurate management, and slow provisioning," ultimately paving the way for next-generation intelligent and agile operations.

Solutions

The UIM system delivers end-to-end lifecycle management from physical builds to logical operations. Through five core phases, it shatters the traditional data silos of "build, record, operate, and maintain.

Function Architecture

Based on a "Single Source of Truth" and visual topologies, the system drives an "AI-first" strategy. It integrates Conversational AI, smart asset recognition, automated document parsing, and capacity prediction to deliver comprehensive, intelligent network resource management.

Plan & Design

The solution supports business resource planning & design to help resource construction and support resource data use.

Auto-discovery & Collection

UIM delivers built-in adapters and robust access capabilities for automated data collection and resource discovery across multi-technology, multi-vendor environments—ensuring data accuracy.

Single Truth of Resource

UIM aggregates multi-source data from underlying network elements, third-party systems, and O&M work orders for unified verification and centralized management, ultimately enabling the cross-domain sharing of high-quality resource data via APIs to comprehensively improve data consistency and accuracy while effectively optimizing overall O&M costs.

Digital Twin

The system supports 2D/3D digital twin of the resource inventory in room, cabinet, and is able to display the physical connection information between different equipment, actual physical manhole, pipeline segments, fiber optic cable segments.

Topology Stitching and Simulation

The UIM solution leverages LLDP, ARP, and AI-driven drawing recognition to support cross-domain topology. It enables logical and physical route drill-down for enhanced visibility.

Service Fulfillment Support

UIM provides an accurate data foundation for automatic resource orchestration during the E2E provisioning process, including survey results, solution design, and resource allocation . Online operations ensure updates timely and accuracy of data.

Service Assurance Support

The UIM leverages inventory and service data to deliver service impact analysis across internal and external resources  according to the service inventory.

Customer Value

Unified Single Truth of Resource Platform
The system leverages robust data orchestration and governance capabilities to deeply aggregate network data across siloed departments. By constructing end-to-end, cross-domain visual topologies that break down physical boundaries, it establishes an integrated "Collect, Store, Manage, Govern, and Utilize" asset data closed-loop. This empowers teams across different business domains to share a single, highly accurate set of underlying digital assets, thereby completely eliminating information gaps and exponentially improving cross-domain fault demarcation and collaboration efficiency.

AI-first Engine
Breaking through the bottlenecks of traditional intelligent experiences, the UIM system introduces Agent-based conversational interaction, intelligent asset idle/busy status recognition, and machine learning-powered capacity prediction. This shifts operations from reactive, human-dependent troubleshooting to proactive, machine-assisted decision-making. It not only fully aligns with the group’s strategic mandates for automation and intelligence but also delivers a disruptive experience upgrade for front-line O&M personnel.

Maximized ROI
Driven by high-fidelity data, the system enables precision operations and active asset optimization with exceptional data accuracy. It ensures lightning-fast, pinpoint fault localization to drastically reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR). Furthermore, it accurately identifies hidden "sleeping resources" and available capacity within the network, preventing redundant procurement and directly boosting the overall return on investment of network assets.

Elevated O&M Efficiency
The system transforms massive, abstract, and heterogeneous networks into an intuitive "Digital Twin" asset map. Whether for front-end network planning and pre-occupancy, new service provisioning, or back-end cutover drills, fault root cause analysis (RCA), and blast radius (impact) assessment, everything becomes crystal clear at a glance. This significantly lowers the cognitive threshold and operational risks for O&M personnel, making complex network management transparent and highly controllable.
